To begin with, sign in with your Google account at ads.google.com or create a new account, if you don't have one.

After you sign in to your Google Ads (previously Google Adwords) account, click on create a new campaign button to continue. Here I'm going to use expert mode, you can also go ahead with the default option for quick setup.

Define campaign goals

Next step is to choose your desired campaign goal or output. Google Ads allows you the option to select specific goals tailored to the user's requirements. I am going to select 'Website Traffic'. We want the right people to visit our website.

This also allows you to configure various parameters, like campaign start and end dates, target location, and target audiences, and create segments based on demographics.

Here, I have created audience segments based on my campaign goals.

Define Budget and Bidding

To run your ads campaign, you need to define your budget and the cost incurred on advertising will be handled by the budget you set. Optionally you can set maximum CPC (Cost per click). Once you complete this step, your cost incurred on running the ads will not exceed the maximum value.

Defining a budget allows the algorithm to manage your ads campaign and not burn holes in our pocket.

Additional Configurations

Add other optional parameters, if required, such as languages, site links, meta tags, and meta descriptions etc., for an optimized experience.
